Q&A With Natty Stephens
How long have you been pole dancing?
Four and a half years.
When did you realise you were in love with pole?
When going to classes wasn’t enough! I bought my first X-Pole, set it up in the garage, and trained at home whenever I could.
Describe your style.
My style evolves depending on the mood or concept. I love being playful, dynamic, and captivating on stage. But I also enjoy dancing barefoot, connecting to the music, and moving purely for myself.
Favourite move?
It depends on the day! I love split tricks, cup grips, elbow grips, and constantly challenge myself to master new transitions.
Tools of the trade – what can’t you live without?
Shaving cream, Tite Grip, Dew Point, YouTube, and of course, my training buddies.
Do you have hobbies outside of pole?
I’m a pole video addict and love planning training sessions. I also enjoy bouldering – it’s like rock climbing but without ropes, and it keeps me strong and focused.
How does it feel to compete amongst top performers?
It’s surreal. I started pole for the love of it and never thought I’d reach this level. Sharing the stage with dancers who inspire me is absolutely humbling and exciting.
What does your weekly training look like?
I train most days, always allowing at least one rest day per week.
Can’t live without?
My husband, my Myo, and food!
Growing up, what did you want to be?
A dancer – and here we are!
