Today we have the great pleasure of interviewing Joanna Littlewood-Johnson !!! She has amazing strength, great routines and cute costumes:)
You would not know it but Joanna is 43 year old, so lets hear about Joanna and her pole dancing career…….
How long have you been doing pole dancing?
I started classes at Bobbi’s after watching a friend compete in MPD in 2008, so about 4 ½ years ago, just before I turned 40
The moment you realised you love pole dancing?
When I did my first show (comp) and, as well as the performing,
loved the whole experience of training, choreographing and the losing track of time that comes with playing with new tricks and putting together new combinations.
Describe your style.
My style is based on dance, strength moves, leg flexibility and I hope my performances express my love of pole and dancing. I try to adapt my style and choreography to suit the music I have chosen. I prefer dancing barefoot because there are so many tricks and dance styles (I love big jumps) that are easier without shoes, but I also love to put on my heels occasionally.

Favorite move?
No particular favourite, but I love trying different splits, dynamic moves like leaps onto the pole and I’ve been working on Jenyne’s iguana walk.
Tools of the trade, what can’t you live without when pole dancing?
My iPhone to film myself as I train on my own in my loungeroom. Grip aids – Always Dry Hands and dew point or shaving gel, depending on the type of pole
Any hobbies or passions outside of pole dancing?
My kids – I have two handsome, brilliant boys that I adore, although they keep me busy with all their out of school activities (mum’s taxi service … lol)
Pilates – I have been running my own studio for 10 years.
Can’t live without?
Being busy, goals and challenges, stretching, my foam rollers, Bakballs and supply of massage balls, my boys, sunny days, dancing
Growing up I wanted to be a…..
A dancer
Favourite things of all time:
I’m not so good at picking favourites. I have such a wide variety of tastes which change and evolve in so many areas, but I’ll do my best
[youtube_sc url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54PaUAfTOxE”] Movie: I don’t watch many movies because I don’t like to sit still for that long! But the most recent movie I saw was Les Miserable which I loved as it’s one of my favourite musicals
TV Show: TV for me is for evening stretching or to relieve the boredom of ironing school uniforms, but I have always been a big Absolutely Fabulous fan and like shows like House and Elementary.
Musician: I love so many different styles, from classical to musical theatre, rock, dubstep, dance, jazz , blues …. some favs at the moment (which I seem to pick a lot for shows) are Muse, Florence and the machine and Sarah Blasko
Book: I love reading but don’t get nearly enough time. A couple of trilogies that have grabbed me are The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Hunger Games
Magazine: I subscribe to Pilates style magazine
Food: Coffee, Loving Earth chocolate, mangoes, scallops, Broccoli
Designer: Lululemon
Thank you Joanna has been a pleasure getting to know you. Xxx
